Do you want to know what's new in Windows 11? What does your device require to run Windows 11? Is your device eligible to upgrade to Windows 11? Will your apps and devices work with Windows 11? You will find the answer to all your questions about Windows 11.

Microsoft unveiled Windows 11 in a webinar entitled "What's Next for Windows?" on June 24, 2021. Shortly after, Microsoft released the first reviews of its new operating system, Windows 11, for subscribers of the Windows Insider Review Program. Then Microsoft released the official version of its new system, Windows 11, as it reached some computers running the Windows 10 operating system, and this will continue until mid-2022.

What is Windows 11?

Windows 11 comes to succeed Windows 10 and its

infrastructure like windows 10, where Microsoft was

able to offer Windows 11 in the form of semi-annual

updates to Windows 10 without changing

 the name to Windows 11.

Instead, Microsoft chose to make this new release a big surprise with a new version number and a mix of new features and additions.

For some, especially beginners, the new system will look completely different with a new user experience and interface, new additions and features, new icons and colors, in addition to a comprehensive change and rework of the settings program as well as a toolbox designed for reminders, To-do list, and the latest news.

As for hardware-assisted security, it has become mandatory in the new system, unlike it was in Windows 10, where it was optional, and this means that hardware protection and encryption will be available to protect against dangerous, complex, and numerous attacks via the Internet.

Microsoft App Store also saw a major change and update in Windows 11, as well as a third-party developer option that enables secure download through the Store for traditional Win32 desktop apps.

Not only that, the new system Windows 11 includes a subsystem for the Android system, which allows running Android applications on the Windows desktop, but this feature did not come with the first version of Windows 11 but began to appear in the revision versions of Windows 11 weeks after the official launch of Windows.

But the feature of running Android applications on Windows 11 will come primarily from the Amazon application store, which imposes the Paltry App Selection, which requires Microsoft and its developers to add larger application stores such as Samsung App Store and Google Play Store to ensure the availability of Android applications more, as it has always had Microsoft has great experiences in this matter.

How do I get the latest version of Windows 11?

Windows 11 was initially released to the public in October 2021 under version number 22000.194, and was released as an update for Windows Insider program members on September 16, 2021, after which Microsoft released several monthly updates from the first release.

Windows 11 was provided by Microsoft in the form of an update for computers running Windows 10, at its discretion, if these devices will be compatible with the new system and work smoothly, so if you want to get Windows 11 and live the experience, you can choose one of the following methods:

  • Download a Windows 11 disk image in ISO format.
  • Run the Windows 11 Installation Assistant, a utility program that downloads the necessary installer files and upgrades the current PC.
  • Create Windows 10 installation media on a USB flash drive or, for traditionalists, a DVD.

Want to know how often your device will receive security and feature updates for Windows 11?

Here is the Servicing schedule provided by Microsoft, where Microsoft will offer a feature update once a year instead of updating features twice a year as was the case on Windows 10, and security updates for devices running Windows 11 will continue to arrive on the second Tuesday of every month.

What does your device require to run Windows 11?

Windows 11 requires relatively new hardware and will not be installed as an upgrade on older computers. Unlike Windows 10, which was designed specifically for these older devices, Windows 11 will work on devices that were designed and sold in 2019 or later, and Microsoft has warned owners of older devices not to install Windows 11. Because this installation will not be supported.

System requirements to run Windows 11 are:

  • Processor: 1GHz or faster with two or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or system on a chip (SoC)
  • RAM: at least 4GB
  • Storage: at least 64GB of available storage
  • Security: TPM version 2.0, UEFI firmware, Secure Boot capable
  • Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later, with a WDDM 2.0 driver
  • Display: High definition (720p) display, 9" or greater monitor, 8-bits per color channel.
If you want to know the compatibility of your device with Windows 11, download and run the PC Health Check app, as older devices will not pass the strict compatibility test with the system, and surely devices purchased in 2016 and before that contain Intel 7th generation processors and AMD Zen 1 processors or less is not supported.

Microsoft announced in August 2021 that it will partially expand its list of processors compatible with the new system while keeping all other requirements in place.

It also requires an Internet connection to update Windows 11 and download and use some new additions and features. In general, this requires an Internet connection and a Microsoft account.

What if your device does not meet the requirements to run Windows 11?

The Windows 11 upgrade program contains a tool that helps check device compatibility and upgrade requirements and prevents the upgrade from being installed on devices with weak processors. To upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 on devices that do not meet the upgrade requirements, the Microsoft support document specifies the following registry key modification that must be performed first:

  • Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup
  • Name: AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU
  • Type: REG_DWORD
  • Value: 1

Another Microsoft support document that warns against first making this modification is not recommended:

This PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements for running Windows 11 - these requirements help ensure a more reliable and higher quality experience. Installing Windows 11 on this PC is not recommended and may result in compatibility issues. If you proceed with installing Windows 11, your PC will no longer be supported and won't be entitled to receive updates. Damages to your PC due to lack of compatibility aren't covered under the manufacturer warranty.
